Out on April 16th, 2021, Soundhoose are all set to share their newest record, Quarantine Psycho. Ahead of that though, heavy alternative rock band has just shared a killer single, “Rejects”. Directly influenced by the likes of Green Day, Linkin Park, Muse, and many more, lead man Brandon Smith describes the single as “an upbeat track that shouts to the world that despite being called a reject, I love being the underdog who will prove others wrong”.

Dating back to 2018 is when the band was initially formed, during the time that Smith had attended the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis and formed the band while he was there. Smith writes, records, produces, and mixes everything himself. As of recently though, the group has recruited Paul Burns on drums and Erik Netland on bass.

As for “Rejects”, we were thoroughly impressed based on our initial listens through. Having loved all of the influences in which Soundhoose bases their sound from, our judgements were very obviously on the tougher side. After listening though, they’ve smashed through our high expectations and pumped up the hype for the release of Quarantine Psycho.

Considering it’s been two years since Mr. Bad Luck, the band is certainly due for something new. Thankfully though, all the singles they’ve released surrounding the album have been glittering gold. With a music video attached to this single as well, it brings a whole new life to “Rejects”.

Instrumentally, the band has nailed it. Productionally, it is crystal clear and everyone gets their shining moment. Vocally though is what impressed us the most. It’s so unbelievably difficult to nail that line between raspiness and growling, all the while being clear and distinctive with your lyricism. As tough of a job as it is, it was wonderfully executed and ultimately wrapped up the song’s greatness.

With all this being said though, “Rejects” is an absolute winner and Soundhoose has a contender for a behemoth of a record on their hands. We legitimately cannot wait for its release. In the meantime though, make sure to listen, watch, and follow along with the band’s every move by clicking the links below.
