Something for Now teases "Feelin' It" off upcoming 4th LP
It’s not often our jaws hit the floor so quickly after just a few listens, but Something for Now’s newest single “Feelin’ It” has done exactly that. We are loving it! Please read for our in-depth look at the track, as well as a background on this greatly talented artist.
Based out of Harrisburg, PA and teaching High School social studies when he’s not pumping out mind warping music, Something for Now is the one man project of Sean Stevenson. Influenced by living legends Dr. Dog, Tame Impala, Grateful Dead, and plenty more, his project has still managed to carve out its own sound and trajectory. Sincerely, we cannot wait for everyone to get their ears on this new song.
With three albums out already, and two more on the way (woah!), Something for Now’s plan is to release one song every Friday for the next 13 weeks until the next record drops. The soon to be released record is titled Onward, Inward and this is the second single to come so far. While we are going to of course recommend you give “Feelin’ It” a listen, do yourselves a service and give “Gather” a spin as well. It was equally as impressive and has our hype levels at an all time high for the full thing.
Speaking directly on “Feelin’ It” though, it was our first introduction to this artist’s music, but has legitimately created fans for life in the process. Of all the music we review, psychedelic and experimental rock is always a personal favorite, however we feel that we “judge” it a bit tougher due to familiarity. With that being said though, there was instantly so much greatness to unpack and process that we immediately had to go back in for a second and third listen to really take it all in.
Pairing together an inventive instrumentation, transporting the listener to outer space, and putting together a solid production is what we enjoyed the most. Like always when it comes to projects like these that are essentially a one man show, our respect goes way up because the difficulties of doing it all is just wildly difficult. Sean Stevenson’s Something for Now is certainly a project to watch with an existing discography we can’t wait to go back and explore. We suggest you do the same leading up to the newest record.
