Coming out hot with a ripping and roaring second single, Solo Solo have completely nailed it on their latest, “Pure Graffiti”. Do yourselves a favor and keep reading for a closer look into the track, as well as a much needed background on the band.

Currently representing the Austin, Texas music scene, Solo Solo is an emerging band made up of brothers, Greg and Jon Denn. On the heels of their debut single “No Sleep” released last month, they’ve given the world a taste of what’s to come on their upcoming EP (early 2023) with “Pure Graffiti”. From what we’ve experienced so far, they’ve infused the hype into us, and we truly cannot wait for more to be shared. Chances are this is your introduction to the band, so please don’t waste another moment, give this a spin as soon as you can.

Accompanied by a super cool “static” music video a la the last single, the animation embodies the vibe that the song gives off. Sticking to that indie rock sound, but certainly dialing things back a bit more and focusing on the emotion side of things, this immediately stuck out to us as a vocal-led performance. However, the band definitely did not lack in the slightest providing this sort of ethereal and atmospheric backing, making the listener feel like they’re floating on a cloud throughout the initial listen. With nicely timed guitar flourishments, there’s a ton of dream pop elements that make themselves heard as well. There’s even a shift in vocal cadence from the last track to “Pure Graffiti”, showing off much more of a dynamic range and capability from the artist. No doubt, we always enjoy a straight up rocker, but the wholesome feeling and immersion that this has to offer shows a lovely new avenue.

At just a little under three minutes runtime, our only real “complaint” is that we wish it were at least double in length. You get sucked in so quickly that by the time it feels like you’re vibing with the song, it unfortunately ends. We suppose that means it’s primed for many re-listens, which we’ll obviously be giving it. With solid messaging through its imagery-filled lyricism that’s worth your time to connect the dots on, Solo Solo have once again outdone themselves on a single that we’re overwhelmingly urging everyone to give a listen to.
