The 10-track album was written during the 2021/22 lockdown period, and each track had a straightforward writing process, starting with instrumental tracks on acoustic guitar and piano before Smith ingeniously interwove incessantly catchy melodies and enthralling lyricism. The album features several tracks co-written by an ex-band member and songwriters from the USA, and was recorded, mixed, and mastered at MJM Studios in Lancashire, England.
