Shari Rowe debuts her heartwarming new single, "The Heavy"
Review by Austin Sher
Released on June 26th, 2020, Shari Rowe has delivered a truly beautiful new single, titled ‘The Heavy”. Read along as we give an in-depth review into what we thought of the song, as well as a bit of background on the artist.
Known to those around her for her compassionate heart and genuine spirit, Shari Rowe strives to provide a glimmer of hope in hard times. With the tagline “be the light in the heavy”, Rowe encourages us all to be a beacon of light during dark times. In today’s climate, more than ever, it is important to spread the message of love and lifting each other up. We couldn’t possibly agree more Shari, in a world that is so unbelievably uncertain, music can be there to lift us all up when we need it the most.
Shari Rowe’s “The Heavy” couldn’t have come at a better time. The song is lighthearted in sound, but “heavy” in meaning and delivery. According to Rowe, “We wrote ’The Heavy’ to inspire,”. “We can all relate. Getting that news, feeling that pain, losing sleep over the things we see in the world, grieving the loss of loved ones. ’The Heavy’ comes into our lives in many ways, and we have the power to lighten the load for each other. We all have opportunities, big or small, to be the light.”
Moving to the music, we really did enjoy what we heard. While this was our first foray into Shari Rowe’s music, it definitely was not our last. Her vocals throughout were soft and serene, while the instrumentation in the background really blew us away. It had just the right amount of country feel to it, but still poppy enough to end up on the mainstream radio. It was an extremely well rounded track that immediately went on all of our mood-based playlists.
Immediately after finishing “The Heavy”, we figured what better time to dig into the rest of her discography, and we really loved what we heard and discovered. We think you will too!
