SevenOh!3 Sounds slows things down on chill single, "Earnestly"
The man can do no wrong! Continuing the slow tease of his impending record, SevenOh!3 Sounds has let loose another winner titled “Earnestly”. As always, you can read our full review below and enjoy a bit of background on this talented artist.
Inspired directly by a chill hop and lo fi-aesthetic sound, Matthew Lee who is much better known as SevenOh!3 Sounds has crushed it on “Earnestly”. Creating an instrumental that’s primed for a laidback setting or ultimately relaxing day, the listener quickly becomes hypnotized as they’re hit right in the head with pulsating rhythms that ooze calming sensations. Similarly to the rest of his discography, we’re thrilled to be able to share this with the world, and cannot wait for everyone out there to experience the greatness.
Centered around an electric guitar riff that reverberates from beginning to end, SevenOh!3 Sounds has simply confounded himself in turning his simplistic songs into grand masterpieces. We mean that in the most sincere way possible, mainly in the sense that there doesn’t need to be 1000 things happening in order for it to be considered impressive. Never relying on cheap gimmicks or novelty to capture attention, he explores wavelengths within the versatile style and the end result always becomes something noteworthy. Our initial impression of this song compared to his others is how it was eerily reminiscent of a prime Tycho, but in this case, Matthew has added his own essence to fully differentiate the two artists. Additionally, this rapidly felt a lot more vibey than the others, practically begging the listener to take a load off and let the music flow through them.

If you’ve been paying close attention, we’ve been covering them extensively. However, the depth, complexity, and pure ingenuity has us feeling a bit of whiplash in the best way possible.
