Just a little over a month since it saw its release, Ruthless Vision’s third officially released single, “Chloroform”, might just be their best. Read along with us for our full detailed thoughts on the track, as well as a background on the band as well.

For those who may be unaware of these up and comers, Ruthless Vision came about when two friends Brian Tomczak (drums) and Mark Sobot (guitar) joined forces to write heavy rock tracks. When keyboardist Jim Asta arrived on the scene, the band aimed to become a notable Chicago based industrial rock band. Simran would later join, adding vocals and lyrics. Finally, Maximillian, a musician well-versed in multiple instruments joined the band to play bass guitar.

Setting themself apart from the rest of the pack is their combination of heavy, crunchy guitar tones, electronic glimmers, and a band that has inclusion amongst all of its members. In the songwriting process specifically, all members are encouraged to have a voice in where the band takes their sound. As far as crafting a vision, it’s the band who makes the decisions, not necessarily a single individual, which we greatly admire.

On just their third single as Ruthless Vision, this band has managed to drastically increase their quality month over month as they’ve released tunes. Now this isn’t to say there other singles were misses, but as time has passed, the band has managed to hone in their signature sound and create fantastic tones across singular songs. To be blunt, we’re loving what we’re hearing! Truly, as fans of industrial sounds, especially on the heavier side, Ruthless Vision are creating magic in such a short time.

As soon as we finished up with our multiple listens of “Chloroform”, we had no choice but to listen to the rest. Their existing tracks “In Bed” and “Solvent” are also spectacular. If you liked their latest, make sure to go back and listen to the others, you will definitely not be disappointed.

Considering the Chicago scene is so competitive amongst bands making similar music, we do honestly feel that what they’re making puts them above the pack and makes them stand out to those who are creating similar sounding sounds. While the band is early in their hopefully long and illustrious careers, the quality in which they’ve managed to churn out is impressive. Chances are here that the band is filled with talented artists to begin with who have managed to find each other and link up cumulative talents. With that being said though, we’re digging what we’re hearing.

As mentioned, the band is early in their career, but we can let it be known right now that we’ve transitioned quickly to being fans. So we’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on what they’re up to in the coming weeks, months, and years. Whether it be a single, EP, or full length record, we’ll be listening. So what are you waiting for at this point? Get listening!
