You may remember a few months back when we covered Robert O’Connor’s last released single, “Over (Before Its Begun)” featuring Skynet GT. Well now the artist is back with another big release in the form of Transcendence, and let us potentially be the first to tell you, it’s incredible. This Dublin born artist went on hiatus in 2013 following the release of his well-received EP Resistance, and now after building up more life experiences, he has returned with more gold for the fans.

According to Robert himself, “I considered calling my comeback record Identity Crisis”, he jokes, "but everything I did during those five years made me who I am today. I see everything I do as a performance, for those five years I felt like an actor being booked for different roles". Now that he’s lived through those times, those times have translated directly into a 7 song EP that slaps from start to finish.

So for fans of Hip Hop and Electronic, mixed with serious themes that are overly relatable, look no further, because this is the record you should be spinning this weekend. While it would be quite difficult to pick a favorite track of the bunch, Robert certainly covers a vast area of ground over the course of its 20 minute run time. Particularly on “Destination Anywhere” and “Real Good Fight” is where things get interesting.

Filled with unique soundscapes, head bobbing beats, and so much more, we’re truly happy that this is the direction the artist has chosen to take his work. After the past single we covered, we were convinced of his skills, but this solidified our thoughts through and through. Take our word for it, it’s absolutely worth taking the 20 minutes out of your day to listen.

So what are you waiting for? It’s about time you stopped reading and started listening! For all things Robert O’Connor and to keep up with al future releases and information, please check out the following links below.
