Keeping things ultimately peppy, bright, and as vibrant as ever, Rich Chambers has continued to evolve yet refine his sound on his all new single, “I'm a Fool for Lovin' You”. Giving off those slightly nostalgic vibes of decades past, he’s so clearly put his heart and soul into this latest release, leaving it all out on the floor for an emphatic performance and always high dose of energy. It’s a great culmination of everything he’s shared so far, so just in case it happens to be your introduction to his music, please use it as a jumping off point to explore many more hits within his growing catalog.
On the background of it all, honestly the title really says it all, “I'm a Fool for Lovin' You”. from beginning to end, Rich does an impeccable job of not blurring the lines, rather laying out the storyline as clear and concise as ever. You don’t need to be a songwriter to connect the dots, whereas we honestly felt like the straightforward aspect of the music made more of a powerful statement rather than hiding by clever passages. If anything, it always manages to come back to his very specific vocals and cadence that communicates exactly what you need to hear. Compared to some of his previous releases, there’s an overwhelming amount of edge and raspiness emanating from his voice, a major plus in our eyes and ears. It adds to the allure of the style and has even shown off more range from Rich than we previously knew possible. Although there was no doubt he was capable, hearing the display is everything we could have hoped for.
Instrumentally, it’s reminiscent of some of our other favorites from him like “I Wonder” or “Summer Looks so Good on You”. Seriously, it’s got that punchiness of classic 60’s rock, but a ton of other modern elements to bring it into 2023. We’ve said it before most likely, but that’s a major reason why we continue to gravitate towards Rich Chambers’ music because it’s really built for everyone, no matter how young or old you are. There’s a built in fun factor about it, a looseness, but always a consistent love for the craft that shines through always. You can feel the emotion he has for the subject matter and it’s absolutely what we feel has kept him driven throughout the personal journey.
