Remain tease single "City of July" off forthcoming full length record
Freshly released on July 1st and a nice precursor to their upcoming record, Remain have set the tone with their latest single, “City of July”. Please read along with us we give you the inside scoop on the track, as well as a background on this fantastic band.
Gearing up for their album Millennial Nation set to be debuted on September 1st, Remain have given us a taste of what’s to come with a great teaser single titled “City of July”. Drawing directly on the themes of getting to a “place we’ve always wanted to go”, the band has looked inward and onward towards a better time. Projecting an incredibly optimistic sound, we highly recommend you give their latest a listen.
Currently based out of Denton, TX, Remain are an American Rock band that is made up of Michael Rosser (Bass), Caleb Coonrod (Guitar, Lead Vox), Perry Hill (Drums), and Jonathan McNary (Lead Guitar). They’ve been playing together since around 2014 and since then have tweaked and tuned their sound to the greatness that you’re going to listen to today. While this song in particular is a bit more of a slow jam in their discography, you can also expect ‘bar-rattling jams' and rock anthems if you ever get the opportunity to witness them live.
Staying consistent is one thing we know they’re great at because everything we’ve heard so far has been nothing short of amazing. On this newest output “City of July”, the instrumentation feels like it took a bit of a backseat as the lyricism and overall message put its best foot forward. While the vocals on the track are heartfelt and full of soul, the message to look forward to a better future is one we can not only relate with, but resonate with a ton at this point in the year. Staying positive and keeping a clear head is always the key and we sincerely thank the band for having a positive headspace during these tough times.
As the album gets closer and closer to its official release, we have a sneaking suspicion that more big things are on the way for Remain. The best way to get ready for it would definitely be to give this one a listen, as well as following them on their social media which we’ve linked below. We hope you love “City of July” as much as we did, enjoy!
