Rebel Robbie channels a vintage sound on "Bars Over My Heart"
With a handful of songs that are instantly impressive to the ear, we’ve quickly fallen in love with Rebel Robbie’s single, “Bars Over My Heart”. Please read along with us as we share our complete thoughts on the track, in addition to a bio on the artist as well.
Racking up achievements such as Orange County Music Awards nominee for Best Male Vocalist, Rebel Robbie has been on a tear with each subsequent single release that gets promoted to the world. Specifically on “Bars Over My Heart”, it instantly resonated with us; we couldn’t help but vibe with the overt use of synthesizers paired with Robbie’s commanding vocals. This is a single we are highly recommending.
While he was originally the lead vocalist for Black Angel, Rebel Robbie has now gone down the solo path in which he’s “writing simple music for complicated people”. Producing an array of sounds from electronic driven tracks like this one to more softer acoustic ballads, the limit truly does not exist for what this artist can create. On “Bars Over My Heart”, we instantly imagined it as a summer single to be turned up loud and sung along to. It was love at first listen and has got us even more excited to dig into the artist’s back discography to see what other gems may be hiding.
Based out of San Juan Capistrano, California, which isn’t too far away from us, our new goal is to make sure we get to witness this music being played in the flesh. At least on this single in particular, it had a perfect upbeat nature to it and an almost 80’s like feel that just came across wonderfully. It should probably go without saying at this point, but this is an artist and a single that we have to recommend for all to check out. There’s plenty of uniqueness coming across within the music, as well as a message that’s just begging to be heard.
