Residing in the United Kingdom, Rebel Control (Andy Baron and Richie Concrete) are making the world a bit of a brighter place in these tough times that we’re all collectively going through. While the song was originally inspired by Grenfell Tower disaster, the focus quickly shifted as tensions in America continue to rise. The band commented on the matter saying, “With the ongoing COVID19 situation and the current tensions in America it just feels right to release a track that's purely about love, positivity and community into the world right now “ the band said, adding “There will be plenty of time and reason to chant down the Babylon political system in the future, we’re sure of it! “

We couldn’t agree more, things are definitely tense over here, but what better way to ease tensions than with a feel good reggae track that makes you want to dance!  “We Nah Got No Money (But We Got Love)” is a fun, catchy, and feel good tune you can listen to at any point in the day and it’s virtually guaranteed to put a smile on your face. It sticks to traditional reggae roots, but of course Rebel Control put their own spin on it to really make it their own.

The story behind the song is quite interesting as well, because as you can imagine it was partially recorded during quarantine and lockdown. When this track was chosen as a single it had to be mixed by Graham "Grammo“ Pilgrim in total isolation in his studio in Rome at the peak of the COVID19 Pandemic with Andy and Concrete collaborating on the mix via video calls. We truly love that even in times of uncertainty, musicians can find a way to still create happiness in our world. When all else fails, there’s music to fall back on.

If our review of the song hasn’t convinced you to take a break of reading and get listening, then now’s the time! While the track can definitely be listened to at any point in the day, we’d recommend listening safely in the sunshine, it’s the perfect setting for such a bright song.
