Ray crafts a laidback jam on introspective single, "Outta Love"
A slow jam right from the start, we’re completely loving the latest track from Ray that’s titled “Outta Love”. Please read on for an in-depth look at the track, in addition to a background on this emerging artist.
Originally from a small Caribbean island called Curacao, the artist known as Ray is taking his musical inspirations and turning them into a reality of his own. While influences certainly come through from artists such as Chris Brown, Lil Baby, and Tory Lanez, he’s still managed to craft out something completely original and fresh sounding on his latest single, “Outta Love”. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our multiple listens and know you all will too once you hit the play button.
While this artist has stated that he’s still in the “process of finding his own sound and flow”, we fully understand that a musician never stops evolving, even with positive feedback. However, we really took to this laidback sound that had elements of 90’s R&B all the while infusing so much of modern day music. If anything, his vocals gave “Outta Love” the consistency and heart that it needed the most. Comparing it to anything popular that’s been released over the past couple of years, it’s hard to deny the immense amount of passion that comes through in Ray’s delivery, let alone the deep contextual themes of his words.
Speaking of, one of the main repeaters in the track is that he’s falling out of love, which if you’ve been in that situation can be quite depressing. He’s put his heart on his sleeve in a very introspective style song, but juxtaposed it with a top tier production that could get you moving around as well. We found “Outta Love” to be versatile in that regard that it’s got many types of different listening capabilities. Going forward on future releases, we’d personally love to hear more relaxing and calm-like pieces that are similar in tone and mood. With all that being said though, we’ve obviously got to give our highest recommendation to give this one a spin and to check out the other works from Ray.
