Two years of work on their latest EP Feel It Now and we can confidently say the wait was worth it. Please check out our full review of Racyne Parker & the Low Coal's latest work, as well as a background on the band.

Made up of Racyne Parker (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Jordan Renn (bass, rhythm guitar) and Nick Wood (drums), this Colorado-based Indie Folk trio have shared something incredibly special on their EP, Feel It Now. Jam packed with progressive instrumentation, emotion in the vocals, and so much more, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed our multiple listens of the record. Get ready for a pure shot of adrenaline, because that’s definitely what’s on the way.

Touching on important themes such as “keeping depression and anxiety at bay and finding moments of clarity in the midst of spinning out”, we found Feel It Now to be as impressive in its message as it was in every other facet. On the surface of it all, the listener’s interest is immediately piqued with the nonstop guitar riffs and Racyne’s engaging vocals, but there’s a real important message here that’s waiting to be unraveled. We suppose that’s the hallmark of a solid record in that there’s so much more going on than you initially thought. With all the work put in over two years, we’re not surprised just how methodically thought out the record really was.

Now while there are certainly glimmers of folk that show themselves quite clearly, we personally enjoyed just how rock-leaning this all came out to be. If anything, the band shows off an impressive versatility from song to song, showing their strengths off in how to correctly structure a song. The moods continuously shift, but the cohesion in these songs from start to finish are as together as can be. Although there’s different styles at play, you know it’s all coming from the same record and not jumping around just for the sake of it. It also gives the listener that overwhelming feeling to listen, learn those lyrics, and belt them out as loud as possible on a long car ride!

Truly, we’ve got no negatives to point out here whatsoever. Please do yourselves all a favor and check out those links below in order to listen, follow along, and to stay tuned for more on the way.
