Based out of Monroe, North Carolina, Q-Starnes’ “You’re Enough” aims to bring the much needed awareness to mental health. Since the artist was 8 years old, he’s been on stages spreading his message and getting his name out there within the music scene. Creating records and inspiring people are his passions, but bringing awareness to hard hitting subjects is what he’s been doing best as of late.

Specifically on “You’re Enough”, the message is to give people a sense of hope and encouragement as a guide for these depressing times. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past year, times have been tough for nearly everyone in the world. On this single, we commend the artist on being straightforward and honest within his lyricism. The message could not possibly be clear, you’re enough.

Putting aside the strong messaging for a moment, instrumentally, this song is absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, the way that it’s able to evoke a handful of emotions not only within its sound, but the straightforwardness of Q-Starnes’ vocals are just beyond lovely. The somber piano opening and the feature from Sherretta Ivey are something to behold as well. As an artist, he’s beyond impressed us with this fine piece of work.

It should really go without saying, but we are highly recommending and suggesting a listen from all the readers out there. Even if you’re not feeling his feelings or can’t relate on a depressive level, this is the type of song where the vulnerabilities will allow you to relate with what a true artist is speaking. As much “singing” that is happening on this record, it’s also spoken word and relaying a strong message. Lush would be one way to put the overall atmosphere, but togetherness and joy is what we were feeling after our many listens here.

Truly, Q-Starnes has proved himself as an artist and innovator on “You’re Enough”. There are so many other singers and songwriters out there who attempt to relay similar messages, but they somehow get lost in the mix. When it feels like someone is speaking directly to you, all the while the music is enjoyable to listen to, that’s when you know you’ve got a winner on your hands.
