Fresh off the release of his absolutely rocking new record titled Rage, we caught up with the artist Pyramid for an in-depth Q&A to learn not only about the album, but to get a deeper understanding of how exactly the music comes to life. Please check it out in full below.

WWAM: To start, this record absolutely rocks from start to finish. Would you mind breaking down the message of it all?

Pyramid: There are messages in each song my friend. It’s about social justice, loss, the world, economy and real life struggles.

WWAM:The production on the album is stellar. Do you do all of your production, do you have help putting together the final pieces?

Pyramid: The mixing is done by guitarists Adam Bentley who is a top graduate from Berklee College in music production. Of course world renowned Maor Appelbaum does the finishing work of mastering . The results are what makes the music 🎶 so strong and powerful.

WWAM: This record pulls from a lot of different styles and genres, but if you had to put a label on it, what would you call it?

4. Are you going to be looking to experiment?

Pyramid: It definitely does. It's a Power Symphonic Prog Metal hybrid with hints of old school heavy metal. The style is working into its own musical style or genre on its own.

WWAM: Are you trying to model your sound after your inspirations or trying for your own sound?

Pyramid: It makes a unique blend of both old and new styles combined. It gives a different feeling and outcome to the whole experience.

WWAM: Were there some key artists or albums in your life that inspired you to take this path as
 musicians?

Pyramid: I grew up in a time of tape decks with no phone and great inspirations. Rush, Iron Maiden, Savatage, Dio, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Scorpions. My style of writing was built on the foundations of old school but as time passed bands like Dream Theater, Tool, Symphony X added another element to my creative process and kept me evolving throughout my writing journey.

WWAM: What’s your process? How do you go about creating a song?

Pyramid: The foundation  songs and structure of all the songs start with the bass.  Then Drums, Guitars, Keys, vocals and the violin were added systematically. I like to work with each musician and vocalist one at a time to achieve the best possible result. Each have creative freedom to add how he or she feels about the music.

WWAM: What does your music say about you?

Pyramid: I think it says I’m here and 100% bringing the whole musical experience how I see it to the world.

WWAM: Trying to tour this year?

Pyramid: It’s difficult to say. Lots of concerts are booked from the back up. The artists in Pyramid have their own music and venues they perform . So it’s been more at the moment just an awesome collaboration between artists to create a unique experience for everyone in the music community to enjoy listening to.

WWAM: Who’s a dream collaboration for you?

Pyramid: They all have been wonderful. Tim Ripper Owens was amazing to work. We did two albums together and it’s been amazing.

WWAM: What’s a favorite song off of this record that you're most looking forward to performing?

Pyramid: Dungeons and Dragons is the high point of this for me.

WWAM: What are some major goals you'd hopefully like to accomplish this year?

Pyramid: I’ve been collaborating with a few different artists. I want to let RAGE sink in before I put the next album out. Make no mistakes, it's already in the works and it will shock everyone who is waiting.

WWAM: There've been so many incredible releases this year from other artists, what have you been listening to in your free time? Watching anything maybe?

Pyramid: Redemption just released their new album. I AM the Storm. Chris the drummer from Redemption has been working with me since 2017. It’s been a great experience and their new album is amazingly well done.

WWAM: What message would you like to pass off to the listeners? Where can they find your music and is there anything else they can look forward to?

Pyramid:
I appreciate each and everyone who has supported and contributed to this campaign. It’s been very lifelong work and I’m committed to bringing to you much more to come.
Stay Tuned and Stay Metal \M/
