Project 1268 get groovy on their latest track, "Put The Needle Down"
Dialing up the funk for an all new single they’ve titled “Put The Needle Down”, Project 1268 are back at it again with another stunner. Keep reading for a closer look at the track, as well as an update on this emerging band.
Keeping the fans on their toes with a sonic shift in sound, the musical duo of Project 1268 are back at it with a new one called “Put The Needle Down”. While their last single we reviewed titled “Our Story” had a bit of a 90’s flair to it, they’ve channeled the grooves of the 70’s on this new release and it’s instantly groovy right from the get go. They haven’t let us down yet, so if for some reason you’ve yet to hit the play button on this band’s music, now would be the ideal time to do just that!
Crafted for the masses to get down and dance to, they’ve even hinted at that on the single artwork which features a singular roller blade. In total honesty, we didn’t even need the hint because as soon as that first 30 seconds passed by with rolling bass lines and a whole lot of attitude attached, our heads were bobbing up and down to the beat. What we’ve enjoyed the most about “Put The Needle Down” was the immense growth that the band has shown in such a short amount of time. They’re clearly in their experimental phase of seeing what works or what’s getting reactions, but unequivocally they’re having fun in their creations and that’s what should matter the most.
While the band is usually just made up of Craig and Haley, they actually brought on a pretty legendary collaborator into the mix here; Charlie Calmers of Muscle Shoals. We’d love to get the background on how involved he was and if that’s the reason for the stylistic change, but regardless, the three put something together here that screams the sound of the summer. As always, it’s going to be a wild guess as to what other genres Project 1268 will conquer, but we’ve got full faith and confidence that they’ll make it work like they always do.
