Kicking off their 2023 on a seriously high note, the power duo known as Project 1268 have made their return for an all new single called “Do Ya Wanna”. Keep reading as we share our thoughts on the track, in addition to an update on this talented band.

We’ve covered them extensively in the past, but just in case you’re out of the loop, Project 1268 is a musical endeavor from Craig and Haley, two transcendent artists in their own right. Having continued to fine tune yet experiment with their sound over the past two years, they’ve legitimately brought us so much joy with their music. This newest single is called “Do Ya Wanna” and brings on that signature style of Haley’s dynamic vocals and Craig’s exceptional saxophone skills. Obviously, we’re urging everyone out there to give this a spin.

Where Project 1268 differentiates themselves the most is their eclectic style that’s truly starting to sound like something completely of its own, a real rarity in today’s musicscape. It bridges the gap between Soul, Pop, and Folk, however there’s still so many inclusions of instrumental moments that make it pop the most. The sincerity in “Do Ya Wanna” undoubtedly comes from the vocals and vivid lyricism, honing in on that feel good attitude, but in a way that makes the listener embody the emotions of nostalgia and reflection. It’s 100% in the cadence of Haley’s voice, but also in the composition of the song as a whole. For all of our collective lives, we’ve always been suckers for a horns section, and this only solidifies that fact.

At just a little under three minutes in runtime, we suppose our only real “complaint” is that we wish it were longer! As soon as you get immersed into the groove, feeling all the love and passion that “Do Ya Wanna” has to offer, it unfortunately ends. Thankfully though, this is a single that will be included on Project 1268’s highly anticipated sophomore record, due to be released sometime this Spring. It should go without saying at this point, but we’re beyond thrilled to see what the duo has been cooking up in the off season.
