Polarity Code details his exceptional debut single, "An Illusion" - Interview
Starting out with an incredibly strong debut single titled “An Illusion” we sat down for an in-depth conversation with Polarity Code to break down this new track. Do yourselves a favor and watch our full interview below.
Seattle-based musician Saral Navlakha is doing big things with his new project Polarity Code and with the release of his debut single “An Illusion”, we can confidently state he’s put his best foot forward. Getting to speak with this artist all about the intricacies of his music, what’s in the works for the future, and the process was an absolute treat. As much as we want you to listen to our discussion, the real priority is to dig into the music.
With so much set in motion for the coming months, the heart of Polarity Code lies in its exploration of themes about personal desires vs. societal norms, separation vs connection, resignation vs perseverance, and confusion vs clarity. Slightly buried beneath a breathtaking instrumental are some hard hitting lyrics that we sincerely recommend you take the time to listen to. As mentioned in our chat, we had to listen multiple times just to get the full feeling of what we were experiencing, but oh was it worth that journey.
Taking influence from Radiohead’s “Paranoid Android” and Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, "An Illusion" is a three-act narrative that is equal parts emotional, dramatic, and intoxicatingly groovy at the same time. So many artists just starting out seem to completely miss the mark on their debut due to inexperience or not quite knowing what they want, however in this case we wouldn’t want to hear anything else coming from Polarity Code. It’s not all too often we fall in love with music so quickly, but rarities like this have surely broken that mold. It seriously can’t be overstated what a delight this song and interview really was for us.
As mentioned, there’s so much coming up in the near future that we highly suggest you stay tuned for more by following along with the project. You can follow Polarity Code on social media of course, but we also recommend subscribing to the newsletter for a more in-depth and personal touch on what’s new. All the links to do so can be found below, enjoy!
