Out officially on October 10th, 2021, we got the wonderful opportunity to preview Paul Go’s newest single titled “Egg Fried Noodles”. Spoiler alert, it’s fantastic! Read on for our full review of the track, in addition to a background on the artist.

As a singer, songwriter, author, and research academic, there really isn’t anything that Paul Go can’t accomplish when he puts his mind to it. Putting together a wonderfully laid back blend of acoustic folk pop, he’s particularly struck a chord with us on his newest single, “Egg Fried Noodles”. For those looking to get relaxed and stay positive, we highly recommend you give his new song a chance come release day.

Specifically on “Egg Fried Noodles”, Paul has written about the “day-to-day difficulties of dealing with mental health issues”. He’s exploring the themes of resilience and strength, all the while creating stunning beauty within his voice and calm demeanor through song. All set for its release on World Mental Health Day (October 10th), it’s the perfect addition to his growing discography. Although there’s been such a nice push for mental health awareness over the past couple years, it never hurts to have more, especially when it’s as great as this.

Considering this is Paul Go’s first single since 2019, our real hope here is that more is on the way in the form of new singles or even an EP. The way that he’s structured this song in particular has led us to believe that he’s got more musical tricks up his sleeve. While everything about the short song was nice in our book, we’d like to put an emphasis and focus on the songwriting. We felt that stylistically, it was a good call to keep the instrumentation sort of restrained in order for the listener to have a chance to connect with the lyrics given the difficult themes.

Needless to say though, this is a song and an artist we really can’t wait for everyone to check out. Another reminder that the song comes out on October 10th, but also that Paul Go has other music that’s 100% worth checking out in the meantime.
