Orlando Rocco makes quick return on "Closer To You" featuring MUI
Toning things down a bit but continuing to excel on his series of collaborations, Orlando Rocco has enlisted the help of others to poignantly craft “Closer To You”. Keep reading for an in-depth look into the song, as well as an update on the artists.
It’s been a little over a month since we last heard from Orlando Rocco, but when he’s quietest, that just means more music is being created. On his newest single “Closer To You”, he assembled the team of Sal Ly (vocals), Mui (piano), and into the mix. The final product has resulted in something a tad more low key than what we’ve heard in the past, but also a welcome pivot to a new and exciting sound.
The song ultimately revolves around a piano melody that Orlando initially created, but that Mui enhanced, for it all to come together with a bumping bass. While the production always seems to be a major focus of Orlando’s music, it’s hard to deny that the vocals here are anything but exceptional and transcendent through their delivery. As for the tone of the song, when we say it’s a sonic shift that’s not to allude we’re experiencing a major change, rather the mood of “Closer To You” is a lot more refined and calming. Given the themes of what it’s about once you actually listen to the lyrics, all involved completely nailed the vibe of the song and how it all comes off.
We’ve said it in the past but feel the need to say it again, the way that Orlando Rocco consistently brings high caliber talent into his atmosphere of music creation is so wonderful in every sense. Each artist brings their own set of skills to the playing field and you end up with instantly beautiful listens like this. We don’t know how he’s finding them, but it always gives the opportunity for the reader to explore more music. With all that being said though, Orlando’s output just through 2022 has been extraordinary and we sincerely won’t be surprised when more collaborations like this pop up in the near future.
