Orchad's Justyn Vynn gives a background story on single, "Skin" - Interview
Taking the time out of their busy schedule to drop in for a full interview, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit and speak with Orchad all about their latest single, “Skin”. Please watch our discussion below.
Currently based out of Montreal, Canada, Orchad are a power duo putting together an eclectic mix of Pop and harder Rock. During our conversation with Justyn Vynn, we covered a variety of topics, but focused intently on the greatness that is their newest single, “Skin”. Taking influences by so many monstrous bands, Orchad has still managed to infuse their own signature sound and feel into the mix. We’re loving this one and can’t wait for everyone to hear all about how it was made.
Creating a new and unique sound that they claim “shouldn’t work”, we can go ahead and vouch that it 100% does. What Orchad is doing in their music is ultimately taking distinct styles spanning all across the rock genre and fusing them together with melodic electric guitars and impassioned vocals. We confidently feel that their latest single “Skin” would be an ideal introduction to the rest of their music, but future listeners like you can be the judge of that. Through the tracks five minute runtime, we also felt that it had so much room to breathe, explore, and make a statement that didn’t feel rushed in the slightest. Sure, there’s plenty of Pop sensibilities that display themselves, but through and through this band lives and breathes classic rock and roll.
During our conversation with Justyn, he was kind enough to walk us through the dynamics of the band, even though his counterpart Julian wasn’t able to attend. Hopefully he can make an appearance next time, however we really did get so many insightful looks into their process of creating, what else might be on the horizon in the near future, and how a song like this gets built. We’d encourage everyone to listen to our conversation first in order to get a feel for the music, then go ahead and crank this one up to 11 and rock the night away.
