For those who may not be up to speed, Opium Ink are an alternative rock band from New York City consisting of lead vocalist and bassist Sarah Orloff & drummer Wilma Kaddissi, along with guest guitarists. Mixing elements of both rock and electronic music, they’re creating their own sound that impresses on the spectrum of both genres.

For the last couple of years now, the band has been playing live shows throughout New York City to large crowds and in July 2019 they were the support band for Wolves At The Gate in Brooklyn. Collectively they have previously shared the stage with the Misfits, Everclear, Brand New, as well as many others. Together as a duo, Sarah and Wilma are certainly making waves within the industry as they slowly share each powerful piece of music and art.

Specifically on “Can’t Breathe”, right off the bat you’re sucked into a truly unique atmosphere that the girls have created. Filled with big booming drums, stellar vocal deliveries, and a wash of sound over your body, we can confidently say that this one’s a winner in our eyes. In an already crowded genre of alternative rock, Opium Ink are managing to carve out their own niche in terms of atmosphere, but also appearance.

Filled with shredding guitars, heavy breakdowns, and so much more, “Can’t Breathe” jam packs all the finest parts of rock and roll into a nearly three minute single. If you’re looking for a quick dose of energy to fill your days with, look no further, because we’ve found the medicine.

One of the best parts about this duo is that they’re releasing music regularly. In fact, while we don’t want to give too much away, we will give the heads up that there may or may not be more releasing in the next couple of weeks. So if you’re liking what you’re hearing on “Can’t Breathe”, strap in, because more tunes are headed your way...maybe.

With all this being said though, now’s about the time we’ll let the reader know to stop reading, and start listening! For all things Opium Ink and to keep up with all future releases and information, please check out the following links below.
