O.Love brings his sci-funk sound on newest single, "Embellishment"

O.Love’s latest single “Embellishment”, recently released this month, is officially live! What a fantastic mood setting song. Read along with us for our full review of it, in addition to a bit of background on the artist as well.
O.Love, also known as, Asian Hawk is the turntablist turned troubadour who is currently receiving critical acclaim from DJCity for the groundbreaking “turntable soul”. On “Embellishment”, O.Love finally shows us his true colours as a vocalist as well. In terms of future sound from the artist, we can expect future funk and neo soul, which is definitely something we’re looking forward to!
The new single from O.Love is inspired by the deep-seated duplicity woven into the fabric of society, through government, media, celebrity and the establishment, as well as in our everyday lives. All this wrapped up in a smooth nostalgic dose of 80's sci-funk. While the genre of sci-funk is certainly something that we’ve never come across, our initial thoughts are that we’re huge fans of it. If anything, O.Love has taught us to expand our musical horizons and dig into this genre. We do feel that the success of “Embellishment” is definitely something that other lovers of the genre need to get their ears on.
Speaking directly on the song, our first impressions were just how high quality the production was. Seeing as how O.Love has quite literally put his heart and soul into everything he makes, we’re not surprised in the slightest as to how well the song turned out. After you listen and like it, which you definitely will, it’s time to get excited because during this quarantine period the artist has managed to create an album full of fun tracks just like this one. We’re not quite sure when the album is set to drop, but we’ll definitely be providing an update as soon as it does.
While we loved the song, we’re equally enthralled with how the single artwork turned out. Typically the artwork for a song can be the first indicator of what the song might sound like or a feeling that the artist is going for. In this case, it matches 100% perfectly. It’s catchy to the eyes, it embodies the atmosphere and vibe of the song, and overall really increased our feelings on “Embellishment” as to how much we liked it!
