Oliver Low returns with optimistic feeling rock track, "Fool's Gold"
Serving up his first single since 2020, Oliver Low has made his valiant return with a fantastic new track called “Fool’s Gold”. Please read on for an in-depth look into the single, in addition to a much needed background on this artist.
Writing songs since the age of 16 and being a part of multiple bands over the years, ultimately the downtime of COVID brought Oliver Low back to recording more originals. With help on the production end from Alex Dezen, the two collaborators quickly got to work and cranked out a handful of hits over the past two years. Fast forward to today and Oliver’s newest endeavor “Fool’s Gold” has been released and it’s an immensely catchy piece of indie rock that we’re urging everyone to check out.
Following up the successes of tracks like “21 Days” and “All I’ve Ever Known”, if there’s one thing that Oliver Low can make a statement doing, it’s writing these absolutely catchy bops that get stuck in your head way too easily. Through our initial listen of “Fool’s Gold”, it starts off a tad on the slow side instrumentally, but quickly picks up midway through, and before you know it, you’re humming along like it’s a song you’ve been listening to for 10+ years. On the production end, it’s this crisp, clean, and straightforward rock track that filled us with nostalgia for the mid 2000’s, however Oliver still managed to bring a ton of modern elements into the mix. His lyricism so effortlessly paints a picture of what sounds like a personal situation, but it’s the conviction in his vocals that sells it all in the end.
Through nearly four minutes overall runtime, it feels like an incredibly well rounded listen that could attract a music listener no matter their preference. We took the time to check out the rest of Oliver’s music in order to make some comparisons, but after doing that, this does feel like a look into the future from what we can possibly expect soon. It doesn’t overcomplicate itself, it feels quite optimistic tonally, but overall it’s something we already know we’ll be coming back to as soon as possible.
While we patiently wait for more, please go ahead and check out the links below to listen, follow along, and of course to keep up with all releases and information.
