Noshows' Max Satow Details Their Genre-Bending Single, "So Mysterious" - Interview
Fresh off the release of their latest single “So Mysterious”, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit and speak with the front man of Noshows, Max Satow. Please check out our interview in full below.
Currently based out of New York City, Noshows are on a sonic quest to create a mesmerizing blend of music that embodies a little bit of everything genre-wise. On their newest song called “So Mysterious”, it delves into the poppier and jazzier side of their sound but with a Hip Hop base that’s filled with soul. Having now talked with Max and hearing the evolution of his solo project that’s now a full fledged band, we’re thrilled to have discovered the project, and even more excited to see where they’re headed.
What originally started out as Max’s solo act in February of this year has thankfully branched out to a full size band. It’ll all make sense once you listen for yourselves, but even looking past “So Mysterious”, Noshows’ music is jam-packed with inventive instrumentation that would be downright impossible for one person to accomplish on stage. They’ve been making a name for themselves all through the New York music scene playing at iconic venues like Arlene’s Grocery, Bowery Electric, and more, but they’ve got that vibrant feel to them that’s primed for stages everywhere.
As mentioned, this one is certainly more on the Jazzy Hip Hop side of things, but lyrically speaking the themes and messaging weren’t lacking in the slightest. In fact, Max gave us a solid background of what exactly inspired “So Mysterious” as he pulls from his personal life and experiences to write all the music. Furthermore, we also got a glimpse into what else is on the way from the band in the coming months and a peek into next year as well. Now that the band is in full swing and are in full blown creative mood, it’s the perfect time to discover everything they’ve released previously, and to make sure you’re up to date on everything that’s on the way too. By the end of next year, we sincerely hope to be able to see their explosive live show in person!
