North Limb debuts his conceptual record, "A Pair of Comets Bleeding Across November Skies"
Thinking outside of the box and creating something truly extraordinary from scratch, the project of North Limb has finally released his debut album, A Pair of Comets Bleeding Across November Skies. Please read on for our glowing review of the record.
From the mind of Fynn Eriksen has come the musical identity of North Limb. Spending six months locked in his room creating this outstanding record was well worth the time and focus, because everything about A Pair of Comets Bleeding Across November Skies was fantastic in our eyes. No matter where you fall on the musical spectrum, there’s something for everyone on this album.
Armed with a keyboard, guitar, bass, and a “desire to communicate something through music”, ultimately ended in a concept album from the blossoming artist. According to Fynn, the premise of the record is accepting the fact that people in your life ebb and flow. As sonically impressive as the record was from start to finish, don’t miss out on making deep connections within the lyricism, because there’s some seriously clever lines presented there.
Coming in at 9 total tracks, one of our first impressions after our initial listen was just how cohesive in style and sound the record felt. Normally we’d pick out a single or two to dip your toes in, however the artist really throws you into the deep end quickly as you start your listen and doesn’t let up until the final moments. Click the play button on “II Comets (Together)” and let the rest do the talking.
We’re not sure if the artist Car Seat Headrest was any inspiration, but immediately we got the feeling in all parts of the music that may be so. With that being said though, Fynn still did a great job of creating something signature for itself that speaks volumes on his multi-instrumentalist skills as well as composition and arrangement. Each song kept us guessing and plenty of surprises popped out at opportune times as well.
Without giving too much else away, we’ve gone ahead and included the important links below in order to listen (via Bandcamp) and to follow along with his social media to keep up with the latest. We know we will be! Hop right into this album today.
