Long Island, NY rapper nikmoody has been on quite the streak lately with hit after hit. “Union Square” is no different, and with the feature from Sasha Prendes, there’s a chance this might be his best yet. Considering his music features a personal touch and has a real soulful backbone to it, the sky’s the limit for this artist.

Though he’s always been involved in the arts and creative side of things, especially while crafting screenplays, short stories, and more, Hip Hop eventually became his main focus, and we’re thankful it did. Having released his debut EP, House of Mirrors, back in 2017, there hasn’t been a negative release since. We loved “Union Square” so much, we truly had to go and check out his entire discography to fact check ourselves.

Between his performances at SXSW, headlining SOB’s, and opening for legends such as Wyclef Jean, Dizzy Wright, and too many others to name, nikmoody is on the track to a highly successful career. Specifically on “Union Square” though, the artist has managed to outdo himself in terms of perfecting his flow, nailing bumping subtle bass lines, and creating an overall atmosphere that makes you want to kick back and focus in.

At just four minutes in run time, nikmoody has managed to convert us into a subset of super fans. Seriously, this is just the type of vibe we’re looking for within our personal tastes, so the fact that our scratch has been itched so quickly just made it even better once we dug into his other hits.

Lyrically, the artist is telling a story that deserves to be listened to closely. The song could honestly be split up into two versions, a pure instrumental (that would be just as good) and an acapella version so that you could truly hone in on the themes of the song. While that’s not quite possible at this time, we’ll just go ahead and recommend multiple listen throughs to fully get his point across.

All in all though, we’re thoroughly impressed with what we’ve heard and think you will be too. If Hip Hop is your thing, and even if it’s not, we suggest you take the time out of your day and peruse through the music of nikmoody. Enjoy!
