Always staying consistent on his seemingly endless album releases, Nick Bowen has struck gold once again on his latest, Kill Your Monsters. Read on for a closer look at the record, as well as an update on the artist.

While we got a taste of what was to come back in March on his single “Drive-In Dreams”, we never could’ve guessed that the final product in Kill Your Monsters would turn out as fantastic as it did. For emerging artist Nick Bowen, he’s continually evolving his sound and never making the same thing twice. In today’s musical world of rehashing what works and just going with it, he’s breaking the mold and keeping his inner artist inspired with these highly original works.

As a multi-instrumentalist that mainly keeps his focus on the guitar, he’s lent so much of his other instrumental talents on Kill Your Monsters that it legitimately became difficult to keep count. Keeping everything from the vocals to the production in house by himself, please take that into consideration before you click the play button. To be able to foresee a vision like this and ultimately execute is next level craftsmanship. On these 10 lovely tracks, they flow effortlessly one into the other and continuously pique the listener’s interest and attention from start to finish.

While we could pinpoint a hundred moments easily that stand out, especially on the moods evoked, we’ve got to give it up for his vocal performance. We’ve pointed it out on previous reviews of his, but Nick going the extra mile to completely nail the falsetto on specific tracks like “Disassociate (Party Now)” are what immediately stood out. There’s glimmers of that spread all over Kill Your Monsters, but the risk taking presented here shows that he’s willing to not play it safe and put himself in potentially uncomfortable positions to try new things. With that being said, we can confirm the risk was worth the reward because scattered across Kill Your Monsters are a series of memorable moments.

From the softer vocal led ballads to the more instrumentally vibrant tracks, Nick Bowen has another winner on his hands that we’re urging everyone out there to give a proper listen to. Please do so by checking out the important links below to listen, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for his next major release.
