Nick Bowen shares out of this world single, "Drive-In Dreams"
Switching up his sound into something that we’ve quickly come to love, Nick Bowen’s latest musical offering “Drive-In Dreams” is simply divine. Please check out our glowing review below, in addition to a background on this artist.
Always keeping his listeners guessing in one way or another, Nick Bowen’s newest single “Drive-In Dreams” is a spacey sounding track that will have you feeling like you’re floating. With the intention of “creating a romanticism with layered choir like harmonies, airy synth sounds and a driving guitar riff”, we’ve come to the conclusion quickly that this is by far our favorite song of his yet. If you’ve yet to discover Nick’s discography, now would be the ideal time to dive right in.
Somewhere between M83 and The 1975, Nick has certainly imparted a whole lot of himself here, mainly within the vocals and production. With the addition of a synthesizer to create suspense in the background, there really is a cloudlike feeling that the listener experiences after hitting the play button. As the song goes on and the presence of a choir enters, it’s like you're ascending straight to heaven through the power of music. You can only imagine how many tunes come across our way, but it’s legitimately songs like these that continue to be the standouts.
As this appears to be Nick’s first single release of 2022, here’s to hoping that he’s got a whole lot more of this coming our way soon. While it definitely falls under the Indie Pop spectrum in some regards, there’s also a bit of shoegaze that shows itself too. It’s not often a wave of calm or relaxation hits so quickly, but we are fully confident that everyone out there is going to feel similarly. He’s showing us what he’s made of and has clearly struck a chord with our personal music preferences.
