My Friends Call Me Mel pens a winner on debut, "Wildflowers"

Melanie M Scheiber, also known as My Friends Call Me Mel, is a Katy, Texas-raised singer-songwriter who has just launched this new pop music project. With plans to share new music every few months this year and beyond, the artist’s musical approach is inspired by wanting her songs to feel like a friend—music that encourages and empowers, creating a sanctuary of sound for the heavy and light moments of life. We have instantly fallen in love with this debut!
For Mel, it all started at a young age when her love and talent for music initially came as a natural ability. Making up story lines for characters, crafting their own theme songs, and making personal songs for family members was all a part of the process. Thankfully though, that passion turned into a full blown artistic approach to what is now known as My Friends Call Me Mel.
Produced by Stephen Hall of St. Hall Productions, we couldn’t help but be drawn to “Wildflowers” right after our first listen through. Filled with lush soundscapes, vibrant effects, and of course Mel’s awe-inspiring vocal delivery, we really couldn’t hope for much more in an artist’s debut. The true hope right now is that the follow up to this winning single is on the way in the coming weeks or months.
As an artist comes into their own and really tries to figure out what path or sound they’d like to go forward with in the future, they usually go about it in an experimental way. We think where Mel has shined on here is that we wouldn’t really want to hear much of a debarkation from what she’s just put out. Hand in hand with the production here, the actual sound of the music is nothing short of beautiful. Honestly, an a capella version of the track would be just as great, but with everything else added, makes for an honest and complete single.
