Mia Mormino shows us her other side on "Alternate Reality"
Coming out incredibly strong in 2022, Mia Mormino has let loose an instant hit she’s calling “Alternate Reality”. Please read on for our glowing review of the track, as well as a background on the artist.
When life gets a tad too difficult, why not create an alternate reality for yourself to escape the mess? In this case, Mia Mormino has taken those troubles and crafted a supremely catchy single titled “Alternate Reality” that touches on that difficult situation. Showing off her dynamic vocals in the process and presenting a top tier production, we sincerely can’t wait for everyone to get their ears on this immediately.
Says Mia on the background of the track, “Is it the healthiest coping mechanism? No. Has it single-handedly carried all the inspiration for my music? One thousand percent. Although each reality I create has a slightly different theme (being a flight attendant, a princess, a boxer, a burlesque dancer, an office employee), the underlying feeling is the same: I'm a bad bitch. Therefore...I'm a bad bitch in my alternate reality.”
As a first impression to both Mia the person and artist, we legitimately can’t help but applaud the mindset and the fact that she’s so self aware. We’ve got nothing but positives to point out in the song as well. She’s really presented something special in the form of an out of the box pop single, but it has all the elements to make you want to come back for more. The backing beat is pristine, it’s got those subtle production effects that pique your interest, and Mia provides the true constant of the song at the forefront. From a vocal standpoint, she’s completely nailed it, and we’re going to undoubtedly explore the rest of her discography as soon as we can.
By the looks of it, 2021 was a massive year for this artist, so let’s hope that “Alternate Reality” is only the first of many singles to be released sometime this year.
