Back and better than ever, we got the opportunity to sit down again with McKayla Prew to talk all about her newest single, “Mine”. Another fantastic conversation with a beyond talented artist! Watch our full interview below.
On her third official single titled “Mine”, we got all the important details from McKayla Prew on everything you’d ever need to know surrounding this single release. As the artist continues to share hit after hit, the experimentation simply knows no bounds, and the musician is finding her way within the sounds she’s created. Needless to say, we highly recommend a listen to her track and a view of our chat.
On the background of “Mine”, McKayla let us know, “Mine is about loving someone who isn’t good for you. No matter how much you know you shouldn’t stay, you feel like you can’t leave. In the end, that person ends up leaving you for someone else." While it’s certainly a relatable sentiment and an unfortunate circumstance, sometimes it feels much better to really get the message and emotions out. Taking away the message even for just a moment, the song itself is an absolute gem in her growing discography. We spoke all about how it feels like 95% barely listen to the lyrics anyway!
On the production side of things, McKayla visited Chuck Alkazian at Pearl Sound Studios and the two worked their usual wonders to create a jam that all are going to enjoy. We obviously don’t want to spoil too much of our talk with the artist, but continuing to get constant updates from her and her music has been a serious joy. With so much music yet to release and a slew of singles coming in the next month, McKayla Prew is an artist that you need to keep your eyes and ears on. In addition to her music though, she’s actually a wonderful person who’s involved in many impressive causes as well. Listen to find out!
