Matthew Wayne previews his record with intimate single, "Wrong Side of the Bed"
Lyrically impressive and expressive from beginning to end, Matthew Wayne has continued to roll out his newest record with a fantastic single, “Wrong Side of the Bed”. Keep reading as we take a closer look into the track, as well as a background on this artist.
As the artist’s debut record comes closer and closer to the big release, Matthew Wayne has teased out another beauty that he’s titled “Wrong Side of the Bed”. Incredibly descriptive and heartfelt, you can immediately tell that this was created from a personal experience as the love and passion bursts through organically. It complements his previous release “Reckless” quite nicely and has us super excited for everyone out there to take a moment and give this a listen.
With help on the writing side from De'Leah Shane, Lance Miller, Nate Kenyon, and Sara Brice, this truly was a collaborative effort and is absolutely why the song shines so bright. On the background of it all, Matthew has said, “This song was special from top to bottom. From the first time I heard it, I couldn't get my mind off of it. It was so hard to get the opportunity to cut this song and when I did I put everything I could into it”. It’s not often that gold shows up on your doorstep, but Matthew obviously saw the song’s potential and we’re thrilled that it finally came to fruition. Rooted in a rich country sound, of course the real star of the show are Matthew’s vocals and the way that his voice carries. It’s like being given a warm and intimate hug through vivid storytelling, a consistent highlight of his discography as a whole.
At just a tad over three minutes in runtime, it flows with ease and doesn’t waste even a single second lulling the listener into its laid back vibe. Though the instrumentals surely are a driver of the mood it evokes, they sort of take a back seat in the mix which stylistically is exactly where we think they belong. Obviously this is a lyric-forward track that derives joy from connecting all the dots and ultimately a main reason why we’ve enjoyed our many listens. Truly, we think you’re going to love it.
