On only her second official single and first of the year, Mary Ann has seriously outdone herself on her newest, “Wake Up Call”. Keep reading as we take a deep dive into the track, as well as a background on this emerging artist.

Currently based out of Porto, Portugal, an extraordinary city we might add, Mary Ann is an immensely talented singer and songwriter. Putting on both a masterclass in her songwriting skills and exploding in passion via her dynamic vocals, she’s hypnotized us on her newest song, “Wake Up Call”. Chances are this is your introduction to the artist as she’s relatively new, but with a song like this, she’s got the staying power for hopefully so much more. Needless to say, we are urging everyone to click the play button.

On the background of it all, “Wake Up Call” is a single that was crafted to speak about “taking responsibility for your actions and making a change for the better”. It’s an all too common sentiment, but one that not everybody actually gets around to attempting. In this scenario though, the way that Mary Ann has delivered each and every line gives off this inspiring and invigorative feel. It makes you want to step back and evaluate your own life, pondering the big questions and becoming introspective for a moment. From the opening notes, she legitimately has you hanging on each and every word as the sheer emotion continues to burst and blossom as the song wraps up to its climactic final notes.

Putting the message aside for just a moment, the instrumental and production were not lacking in the slightest either. She’s channeled and composed this highly specific rock sound, but one that goes above and beyond in blurring the lines between being anthemic, atmospheric, and groundbreaking. For an artist like her that’s really only at the beginning of a fruitful and long career, we can’t think of a better possible effort for a sophomore single. Though we’d definitely recommend you check out her debut “Toxic” as well, there’s something so special about “Wake Up Call” in every facet.

So please, do yourselves all a favor and get listening as soon as you can. We’ve provided the links below to do so, as well as following along on her social media in order to stay up to date for all major news. Enjoy!
