Unbelievably relatable in context but also geared to get you moving, Martial Simon has done it again with his release of “Red Flags”. Keep reading for our full breakdown of the track, as well as a background on this emerging artist.

Celebrating its release day on October 28th, 2022, Martial Simon should be overjoyed with the response he’s about to get once people listen to “Red Flags”. Released via his own label Get Set Records, he’s managed to immerse the listener in an original beat that features euphoric vocals circulating in the mix. Primed to dance into the late hours of the night, this song also holds a serious versatility too. We cannot wait for readers to turn into listeners as everyone hits the play button on this hit.

On the background of “Red Flags”, ultimately it’s about “the all-too-common toxic effects of social media on relationships”. For us though, this could even go as far as translating to modern day dating culture, where red flags are the crux of the talking stage and beyond. There’s something truly anthemic and resounding about this song as it feels like so many other like minded singles allude to this problem, but don’t address it directly. Thankfully, Martial has brought attention to the matter in a way that brings immense joy and happiness through a masterful production and endless grooves. As a New York City-based DJ and producer, he’s been at it for over 20 years at this point, which fully explains the greatness that this one holds.

At just a little over two and a half minutes in length, our only real “complaint” is that we wish it were twice the time. The aura and mood that “Red Flags” evokes is so lovely that you truly don’t want it to end. However, like so much music based in electronics, we do hope that another DJ or artist will pick this up and give it the extended remix that it rightfully deserves. It’s not overly difficult to imagine vibing to this in a club, being obliterated by a booming bass in the process. In the meantime, we’ll undoubtedly be spinning this one nonstop.
