Freshly released and fantastic as ever, we got the special opportunity to sit and speak with Mark Joshua all about his newest EP, Sedated. Please check out our in-depth interview with the artist below.

Currently based out of Hamilton, Ohio, Mark Joshua is a Filipino-American singer and songwriter who is leading the charge with his sensational and uplifting vocals. Having been involved in music for quite some time now and actively writing his own music since the age of 13, his newest EP Sedated is a culmination of everything wonderful he’s shared thus far. Bringing an unmatched energy into the mix has ultimately led to the release of this record that we sincerely haven’t been able to turn off.

With inspirations ranging from Ed Sheeran to John Mayer and beyond, Mark has taken those influences and still managed to craft out something new and original for himself. Through 7 total tracks and around 25 minutes in runtime, you’ll leave the listen feeling optimistic, authentic, and like you really got the chance to learn about an artist through his most intimate moments. He’s broken from his acoustic folk sound of the past and delivered a mixture of upbeat pop, diverse instrumentation, but the constant that is his voice never left the equation. Of course getting to speak with Mark fully about the record was the cherry on top, but the priority here really is to give this EP a listen.

With help on the production, mixing, and mastering from Michael Smith. It goes to show that having a trained producer can really help to fulfill the vision from the start. It’s something we talked about intricately, but the attention to detail and real standout moments can be attributed to the close focus on the composition side of things. If for some reason you’ve yet to dive into the rest of Mark Joshua’s discography, we’d recommend you start at the beginning, just to see where he’s come from and how he got here. There’s plenty more music to explore and an artist who we foresee only upping his game in the near future.

With all that being said, please go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and to keep up with everything else he’s got on the way. Enjoy!
