With his first single release since 2021, Mark Burke has come storming back with an impassioned new song titled “See You Tonight”. Read on for an in-depth look into the track, as well as a background on the artist.
Taking influences from some of the country greats like Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard, Mark Burke has brought on a whole lot of passion and imagery-filled lyricism into his new song, “See You Tonight”. With his vocals leading the way and the strum of a six string backing him, he’s truly put together a complete and well rounded song that has gotten better on each subsequent listen. Says Mark on the background of it all, “‘See You Tonight’ is a romantic/sexy song I wrote about missing my wife while I’m on the road traveling, and anticipating what we would be doing if I was home." Although it certainly comes through in the lyricism, you can really feel the love and sincerity that Mark holds for his wife and it must have been an honor for her to hear it. The way his delivery hits through the messages, we can also only assume how powerful a live performance of this could be. He’s currently based in Nashville, so there’s a pretty great chance that if you’re in the area, you can see it go down in person.
Following up his 2021 track “Good Days Better”, you can audibly hear the improvements and even a pivot in the way that he’s structured it all. The song explodes on instrumentation and almost feels as if a rollercoaster of emotions are hitting, especially towards the climax in the end. Where the song piques the interest is through the sights and sounds, but undoubtedly where it shines has to be his voice and the inflection points infused. At this point, we’re hoping that it’s a quick turnaround between this song and the next, so we’ll be patiently waiting for now.
