Mariah Counts preps for US tour after success of "Lost in the Sauce"
Gearing up for a US tour on the heels of her 2021 record Lost in the Sauce, Mariah Counts is solidifying herself as a rising star in a sea of similar artists. Please read on for our glowing review of the record, as well as a background on this musician.
Currently based out of Los Angeles, Mariah Counts’ debut record Lost in the Sauce is a lyrical journey through the artist’s personal experiences. Touching on complex themes such as relationship struggles, empowerment, and adapting to our new world, she’s juxtaposed these topics with a bright and vibrant instrumentation. You’re getting Mariah at her best from start to finish, and if for some reason this is your introduction to the artist, we can’t think of a better place to begin.
While the record is certainly rooted in pop, as are her musical influences, she’s still gone above and beyond in managing to craft a sound that feels fresh and innovative. Leading the charge with her dynamic vocal range, Mariah leaves the listener hanging on every word as you’re taken on a rollercoaster ride that just so happens to be her life over the past few years. Considering so many in the world will find Lost in the Sauce relatable based on its stories, it’s as much a diary as it is a fully complete and masterful album.
Of course we had our standout tracks like “To See You Happy”, “Is It Too Late”, and “Every Dose”, but ultimately Mariah has put together a cohesive piece that’s meant to be listened to chronologically. Don’t get us wrong, there’s definitely songs here that can be cherry picked for playlist purposes, but the real greatness comes when you listen uninterrupted from start to finish. The stories unfold, the production stays strong, and Mariah keeps finding a way to keep the listener’s interest piqued throughout.
As she’s been seriously connected to her rapidly growing fan base over the past couple years, it’s no surprise in the slightest that a tour is in the works. Starting on May 19th, 2022, you can catch Mariah Counts starting in Dallas, making her way across the country, and ending up in Buffalo. These songs are filled with connections, so we can only imagine how well they’re going to translate in a live setting.
