On a debut single titled “Satori'' that has truly transcended sound, Luna Mare have certainly succeeded on their first output. Keep reading on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on the record as well.

Reminiscent of both Massive Attack and Cocteau Twins, this husband and wife duo named Luna Mare are shaking things up and carving out their own niche within the dream pop genre. Ethereal in sound and grand in its total atmosphere, we’ve instantly come to love everything that this duo are about. We’re highly recommending you dig into this new single and follow along for everything that’s set to come.

Made up of Neil AKA Qualius and his wife Jessica AKA Lady Roundabout, the two are describing their project as both a duo and a collective. Inspired directly by the Bristol music scene, you’re going to hear bits and pieces of jazz, alternative, metal, and more. In fact, “Satori” is actually a relaunch of their project in which an album of the same name is going to be released soon.

Bursting with emotion and spanning seemingly infinite soundscapes, there didn’t feel like there would be an end to the layers that this song created. To be perfectly honest, it wasn’t necessarily the vocals or the production that stood out the most, rather the complete package and reemergence of their project as a whole. With so much music that comes our way that falls into the mainstream pop category, it’s always beyond refreshing to hear works of art like this break the mold.

While the band is sticking fairly true to the genre, there’s still a great deal of originality and inventiveness that they’ve included on the 5 minute track. Immediately though, you find yourself getting lost in the mix which we can only highlight as a compliment. It takes you out of whatever you’re doing and catapults you into the musical world that Luna Mare have created. For us, it’s got us beyond excited to hear what a full album will sound like, but obviously no rush to the artists.

Once again, we encourage you all to check out this latest project from Luna Mare, as well as following along for the album that should be getting a release date any day now. Enjoy!
