Detailing his difficult life experiences, Louis Cross’ newest single “Better Light” is the perfect introduction to this artist and his lovely music. Read on for a closer look at the track, in addition to a background on the artist.

Based out of Manchester, Louis Cross is an independent singer and songwriter that’s elegantly put together an eclectic blend of acoustic and atmospheric music. On his newest song “Better Light”, he’s written it as “an expression of the effect that his disability has had on his life”. Lyrically powerful but instrumentally impressive, we immediately took to this song as soon as we hit the play button. In our opinion, this is one you won’t want to miss out on.

Recorded at EVE Studios in Stockport with Tom Welsh (Bass), Simon Gibson (Lead Guitar), and Ageliki Georga (Backing Vocals), listeners can expect a bright and vibrant Indie Pop song that shows off Louis’ best attributes as a performer. While the song starts off a tad slow to build suspense, it ultimately cascades into a wall of sound that expertly blends deep lyricism and an original instrumentation. The song can almost be broken up into two listens; one to break down Louis’ struggles in the story and the other to truly take in the talent of the backing band.

While it feels like there’s so many positives to point out, of course we’ve got to give it to the lead man for the vocals that provide a much needed constant throughout the track. With a debut EP on the way to release sometime in 2022, it’s going to be quite the journey to see how else he can mend his voice to create beauty. “Better Light” has been nothing but a positive listening experience, so to know that five more tracks are going to accompany this one, it’s got us super excited for the near future.

All in all, Louis Cross is an impeccably promising artist with a positive attitude and outlook on where his life has taken him. You’ll make the connections in the story, but it really is worth taking the time to listen and focus.
