LOR explores her past on debut single, "Used To"
Coming out hot with an incredibly catchy debut single, LOR is sure to be turning heads with “Used To”. We are loving it! Please read along with us as we share our complete thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on this emerging artist.
Currently based out of Toronto, LOR is a singer and songwriter who’s prepping for the big debut of her single, “Used To”. With an accompanying music video on the way as well, she’s put together quite the team to help with the track and the launch. With help from producer SLWJMZ (Freddie Gibbs) and vocal producer Nevon Sinclair (Daniel Caesar), her unique blend of dark pop, folk, and R&B was quite the instant show stopper.
While her inspirations stem from Britney Spears and My Chemical Romance, she’s certainly imparted her own sense of signature sound in a massive way. By far, the highlight on this single was LOR’s voice, but that probably won’t come as a surprise as soon as you listen in. The world and atmosphere she’s created on an isolated single was profoundly impressive and really has set the base for what we’re hoping is a slew of releases to come.
As for the origin story of LOR, it all started for her right around when she was 9 and her musically inclined father gifted her a guitar. Immediately she was hooked and eventually turned to songwriting to help process the personal experiences she had gone through. On this single in particular, the artist gives a closer look to the life she’s had and ultimately those lyrics come through on the track.
All in all, “Used To” is nothing short of a perfect debut single from not only LOR, but from any artist it could’ve come from. It has us beyond excited to hear what comes from her in the coming months and years, especially with so many stories to tell. With that being said, we are very obviously highly recommending you give it a listen as soon as humanly possible. We sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
