Lilla Shy reaches euphoric highs on stellar single, "Party On My Own"
Evoking the sound of the summer and empowering in the process, Lilla Shy has simply gone above and beyond on her newest single, “Party On My Own”. Keep reading for our glowing review of the track, as well as a background on this emerging artist.
Capitalizing off the success of her debut single “Shymode”, Lilla Shy has thankfully made a quick return with her sophomore song, “Party On My Own”. Taking all of the elements which worked so well on the debut, she’s expanded her sound and entered new territory for something that we’ve quickly come to love. If for some reason you’re unfamiliar with her work, do yourselves all a favor and give this one a spin as soon as you can.
On the background of the track, it’s a deeply personal event for Lilla in which she “reminisces her young years and difficult times fitting in”, although the point of view takes a look backwards from her older self. While the song’s meaning certainly does have some melancholy undertones to it, it’s hard to deny that there’s a real juxtaposition between the sound and style that she’s put forth. If you put the message aside, she’s hitting these euphoric highs with her dynamic vocals that urge you to want to sing along immediately, along with a vibrant instrumental that could easily put you in a good mood. With help on the production and writing from Jonny Parry, the two have successfully created something that we’ll be coming back to in the near future.
While we clearly love the song openly, our major highlight from our now multiple listens has to be how the song ultimately cascades into this wall of sound by the end. Lilla starts you out slowly, giving you an idea of what the song might become, but through complex layering within the sound, it ends up being this alternative pop masterpiece that defines the word impressive. Her voice is so sincere, the song structure is actually original, and she’s setting herself up for long term success with creative pieces of beauty just like this. For now, we cannot wait to see what she puts out in the near future!
