On Psychedelic Soul & Trash Vol.3, Legends of the Seven Golden Vampires (LGOTSGV) defy convention to bring an addictive new fusion of styles to Halloween’s stereo. It’s the third installment of their wildly unique discography, where a mix of genres somehow produces an LP as unified as it is sprawling. A fusion of garage rock, bubblegum pop, and psychedelic sci-fi horror elements, this record delivers an eclectic experience that’s both quirky and cohesive. It’s packed with hooks, grooves, and an eerie yet irresistibly catchy soundscape that feels designed to echo through a haunted dance hall.

Nick and Luke—the duo behind LGOTSGV—have embraced their love of experimental sounds while paying homage to icons of pop and rock. With their arsenal of decks, samples, and instrumentation, they create a retro-yet-futuristic vibe, crafting songs that sound like they’re pulled from a multiverse of lost radio waves. The choice collaborations, including James Atkin (of EMF fame) and Eliot Foster of Good Cop, bring an added richness to the sound, layering in a mix of voices and instrumentation that allows the album to feel almost like an all-star pop compilation.

Tracks span the spectrum from danceable, high-energy anthems to wall-of-sound ballads that evoke Phil Spector’s production style, while tracks like the funky “Space Cadet” tip their hat to vintage soul and psychedelic rock. At times, it’s reminiscent of William Shatner’s theatrical vocal experimentation—a nod that Nick Foster himself calls out as a tribute—adding an otherworldly, slightly kitschy charm to the album. “Starlight Specter,” with its warm, pulsing bassline, is a standout, weaving garage rock guitars with ethereal synth touches and vocals that could haunt your dreams (in the best way).

At its heart, Psychedelic Soul & Trash Vol.3 is a record that knows its audience: those who crave something adventurous yet accessible, melodic yet edgy. It’s an album that feels curated for the late-night listener, ready to get lost in an audio adventure that’s part B-movie, part indie pop classic. By balancing irreverence and reverence for pop tradition, LGOTSGV have delivered an epic, genre-bending celebration of sound, and one that promises to leave fans eagerly awaiting the next volume in their electrifying series.

From song to song, they introduce new vibes, feels, and emotions into the whole record that ultimately shape up to be something special by album’s end. For us, the opener is always important to set the tone and truly, “Interstellar Life” serves the record well. However it continues to open up and slowly introduce the listener to more and open their mind. By the end, you’re fully immersed into a record that’s taken on many different lives, showcasing the band’s best.

We can’t help but overwhelmingly recommend this record as it’s fully up our alley for what we enjoy in our free time. Do yourselves the biggest favor and click those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for more!
