Lawd P shares music video for newest single, "Blood Water"
Released on April 5th, 2021, Lawd P has just released a fantastic new single and music video for his latest, “Blood Water”. Do yourselves a favor and read along as we give our analysis on both, as well as a refresher on this highly talented artist.
Following up his 2020 EP, Paradigm Shift 2020, once again we’ve got the incredible opportunity to cover Lawd P’s latest release, “Blood Water”. Paired with a music video, directed by Jeffrey Verna, the artist is featured confessing in a church, talking and rapping about his personal struggles he’s endured over time. Right off the bat, this is a track and video we are highly recommending you put on your priority list.
Hailing from the same neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York, both Jeffrey and Lawd P are Haitian Descendents, in addition to attending elementary school together. Their connection and long-lasting friendship to collaborate was bound to happen at some point, but the finished product just goes to show that greatness can be created when two genius artists come together.
Says the artist, “Blood Water” is a metaphor for trauma. Now while we truly don’t want to give too much away, because we’d obviously prefer you watch the video for yourself (linked below), we will let you know now that this is a song that takes personal experiences and life matters to a whole different level. A song like this could only really be explained in a video format, and as great as it is to listen to the isolated single, the true essence of the lyricism comes through its stunning visuals.
It’s been a few months since we covered Paradigm Shift 2020, so you can only imagine the elation and happiness that flowed through us when we heard a new Lawd P track was headed our way. As usual, the artist expertly connects the dots through imagery-filled lyrical sequences, paired with an always impressive production, wrapping it up with a hard hitting contextual message. As Lawd P adds onto his discography month after month, he’s continuing to solidify himself as a serious asset to his genre.

He’s wholeheartedly proved to us that he’s the real deal, so now’s the time for you to make that realization as well.
