Lauryn Marie delivers endless beauty on EP, "Lifetime"
On her second ever EP titled Lifetime, Lauryn Marie has absolutely blown us away with her latest output. We are loving it! Read on for our full featured review of this artist, as well as an in-depth analysis into the record.
At only 19 years of age, Lauryn Marie is a singer-songwriter from Northern California who is currently studying songwriting at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. For this multi-instrumentalist who plays a little bit of everything, her newest EP Lifetime is a perfectly even mix of pure artistry, stunning beauty, and a warm message. We’ll go ahead and kick things off right now by letting you all know we’re overwhelmingly recommending a listen.
Produced entirely by Lauryn Marie in her bedroom, along with fellow singer-songwriter Elizabeth Piper providing the strings on the title track, the complete end package of Lifetime was nothing short of spectacular. While she’s listed one of her influences as Taylor Swift, even if we weren’t aware of that beforehand, we would’ve immediately made the connection there as her style and delivery was quite reminiscent. Truly though, she’s used that sound as a jumping off point and managed to still carve out something special for herself. In our eyes, Taylor would be proud of this EP’s accomplishments.
Detailing her lifelong personal experiences throughout the 5 track record, Lauryn Marie allows the listener to gain a sense of her life through beautifully written and imagery-filled lyricism. Between the smooth songwriting and the bright instrumentation, there legitimately was not a single dull moment for us in the EP’s 19 minute run time. As this was our introduction to the artist as a whole, she’s made us fans for life. It’s not too often we fall in love with someone’s sound this quickly, however there was just that something extra special about her vocals that made us feel calm and at an ultimate peace.
From end to end, you can fully expect a glowing smile to appear across your faces at the sheer originality and genuineness that Lifetime exudes. We’re so excited for all to discover this record due to its seemingly never ending positives. The next step for us is to explore the rest of what this artist has to offer. We can’t wait!
