LATO serve up suspense on eclectic new single, "Karisma Ape"
Infusing a wild blend of styles, genres, and sounds for something special, LATO have beyond impressed us with their latest delivery, “Karisma Ape”. Keep reading as we take a closer look at the track, in addition to a background on the band.
Currently based out of Milan, Italy, LATO have served up an eclectic variety of music across the spectrum with their newest single, “Karisma Ape”. Originating from rock, but also throwing in sounds from electronic, psychedelia, and beyond, we confidently feel that this band has created something new within their respective genre. While this was our introduction to them, they’ve hooked us with this song, and it’s exactly why we’re urging everyone out there to give it a listen.
With an all new recorded headed our way titled KARISMA, thankfully LATO have shared their third teaser single of the bunch called “Karisma Ape”. It was just released on January 26th, we’ve got the opportunity to preview it to the masses. Immediately as you hit the play button, there’s a resounding and atmospheric tone that comes in, creating a sort of serious and grand effect on the listener. Not long into the listen, a thumping bass line enters and a monotone yet expressive vocal hits you in all the emotions. Paired with a wonderfully shot music video to further escalate the band’s artistry, we’ve found this song to be a grower that allows you to uncover more with your ears with repeated listens.
A major recommendation we’d make here is to give this an initial listen with a nice pair of headphones, mainly because the production is exceptional. There’s so many subtleties we’ve found by listening intently, ultimately giving this song a ton more depth and complexity from beginning to end. There’s hidden echoes, reverberating effects, and a low synth that adds a flair of mystery to it all too. Again, putting a label on this genre-wise or stylistically would be close to impossible as we feel this fully stands on its own. We’re thrilled that a full record is on the way and we cannot wait for more.
