LA Phil & Blue Note Jazz Club partner up for New Los Angeles Venue + More
The iconic Blue Note Jazz Club, a cornerstone of the New York jazz scene, is officially making its West Coast debut. Set to open in March 2025, the new Los Angeles location will bring world-class jazz to the heart of Hollywood, offering a vibrant and intimate musical experience that reflects both Blue Note's storied legacy and the evolving landscape of contemporary jazz.
Located on Sunset Boulevard, the new venue has been designed with Los Angeles audiences in mind. It will feature two unique performance spaces: a main showroom with a 200-person capacity and a more intimate “B Side” room that seats 100 guests. With its full-service kitchen and bar offering brunch and dinner throughout the week, the club is poised to become a hub for music lovers and foodies alike. Programming will mirror the spirit of Blue Note’s New York flagship, showcasing celebrated jazz legends, emerging artists, and boundary-pushing collaborations that redefine the genre.
To mark its opening, five-time Grammy-winning pianist and producer Robert Glasper—a leading voice in modern jazz—will curate the venue’s inaugural series of performances. Known for his innovative fusion of jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, Glasper’s involvement sets the tone for a bold and dynamic future for Blue Note LA.
In a further celebration of jazz, Blue Note has announced an exciting new partnership with the LA Phil, which will see the iconic Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival rebranded as the Blue Note Jazz Festival. Presented by the LA Phil, the 2025 edition of the festival will take place on June 14 at the historic Hollywood Bowl, cementing this collaboration as a testament to both organizations' shared commitment to supporting and showcasing the jazz community.
The full lineup for the Blue Note Jazz Festival, as well as the complete Hollywood Bowl 2025 season, will be announced on February 18, with tickets going on sale in May 2025. With its storied New York history, the Blue Note Jazz Club’s expansion to Los Angeles signals a bright future for live jazz on the West Coast. By blending intimate performances with groundbreaking talent and fostering community partnerships like the one with the LA Phil, Blue Note LA promises to become an essential fixture in the city’s dynamic music scene.
Mark your calendars: March 2025 will mark the arrival of something truly special for jazz fans and music lovers across Los Angeles.
