Using her sweet and serene vocals to tell her captivating stories, Kilough has returned with a touching new single titled “Follow Me”. Please read on as we break down our thoughts on the track, in addition to a much needed background on the artist.

Incorporating her own unique take on Folk, Country, and Pop into her complete sound, Nashville-based artist Kilough is doing big things with just her voice and a guitar. Inspired by Kacey Musgraves, Miranda Lambert, Shakey Graves, and so many more, she’s still managing to create her own version of uniqueness within a crowded genre. We can’t wait for everyone to give a listen to her latest, “Follow Me”.

At just a little over three minutes in overall run time, Kilough sets the scene for a moment in time that encapsulates a sliver of her life. All in all, the song is really about that drive within that urges us to become better. As much as she’s been inspired by the type of music she’s making, we can confidently say that she’s doing a little inspiring of her own with the positive and optimistic message that the song is sending.

2021 has truly been a busy year Kilough as this is actually the final single from her upcoming EP that’s all set for release early next year. We sincerely enjoyed every moment on “What If” and “Miles & Months”, which has only contributed to our skyrocketing levels of hype for the full thing coming soon. As far as what we can hope for the full listen, it will continue to feature her vocals that find a way to showcase highs in the song and a great deal of imagery-filled lyricism to really wrap it all together.

For us, “Follow Me” was the ideal conclusion to the teaser tracks that have come out thus far. We would call the song minimalistic in a way that doesn’t pride itself on cheap production gimmicks to keep a listener hooked. Kilough has gone above and beyond here by using her voice not only as a delivery of lyricism, but as the best instrument used in the song as a whole. Overall, we’ve got zero complaints and all the glory to give on “Follow Me”.
