KG re-emerges with a Soul & R&B-infused single, "Show U Luv"
Spanning a massive amount of genres but 100% making it work in the final result, KG has reemerged for an all new single, “Show U Luv”. Read on as we take a closer look at the track, as well as a background on the artist.
Blurring the lines between classic soul, contemporary R&B, and so much more coming together for an early 2000’s-esque slow jam, KG has crushed it with the fresh release of “Show U Luv”. As an established singer and songwriter based out of the United Kingdom, KG is no stranger to crafting together a catchy, meaningful, and heartfelt song, but honestly he’s gone above and beyond here. This was our introduction, but now having had the chance to explore more, we’re excited to recommend this and the rest of his discography.
Right from the opening notes, you’re immediately transported to the heyday of the mid-2000’s where Usher was king and music like this was all too common. Thankfully though, KG has blended the best from the past and given it a much needed modern update in terms of production and his own unique take on the genre. Little bits of electronics, rap, and hip hop peek their heads through the initial listen, but through and through “Show U Luv” is a throwback R&B jam. To be honest, it’s music like this that we’ve been searching for in 2022, and some has made its way to us, but none of it has felt as genuine and sincere as this has.
Considering that kG has been a part of groups dating back to the 90’s, most notably of R&B/Pop group MN8, he’s no stranger as mentioned. He unfortunately experienced some personal life hardships over the past years, but now having returned, this is a major offering and a perfect return to form from where he left off. The ultimate goal is to reintroduce the world to "big infectious hooks, melodic verses, layered storytelling, emotional chord, soulful synaesthesia, and effortless grooves that soothe the soul". In our eyes, ears, and everything else, he’s hit the mark plus more. The versatility that this song holds is endless and we can already foresee ourselves coming back to it for plenty more listens. In times of relaxation, calm, or the urge to get groovy, “Show U Luv” will be the go to song.
